Mpulamasaka-Mess Area
Mpulamasaka-Mess Village is located along the Kafue River with a total population of three hundred seventy individuals. A friend in Kafue (town near our home) made us aware of this broken hand pump. We drove to the village to inspect the hand pump finding that it had been broken for several months with the ladies fetching water from the Kafue River. In addition to fetching water from the river, the ladies were capturing water which was leaking from the nearby water treatment facility. The facility is the fresh water plant for the town of Kafue and the capital city of Lusaka. Even though the community is nearby the treatment facility they cannot afford to purchase the water it produces--just capturing the water leaking from the distribution pipes. As you can see in the pictures, Water for the Oppressed repaired the hand pump and presented the Gospel to the community. The Lord brought nineteen individuals into the Kingdom. Amen!
